Cachd can pull in content you’ve already saved elsewhere, so you don’t have to start from scratch or re-save everything by hand. Whether your saves are scattered across browser bookmarks, social media, or video platforms, a single import brings them all together into one searchable library. This page explains how to import from each supported source.
All imported content is private by default and is only visible to you. Nothing you import is shared publicly or with other users.

Browser bookmarks

If you’ve been saving pages in your browser, you can export them as an HTML file and upload that file directly to Cachd. Follow the steps for your browser below to export your bookmarks, then upload the file to Cachd.

Export your bookmarks

  1. Open Chrome and click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
  2. Go to Bookmarks → Bookmark manager.
  3. Click the three-dot menu inside the Bookmark manager (top-right).
  4. Select Export bookmarks.
  5. Choose a location to save the file — Chrome exports it as an HTML file (e.g., bookmarks_MM_DD_YY.html).

Upload to Cachd

Once you have your exported HTML file:
  1. Open your Cachd library and navigate to Import.
  2. Select Browser Bookmarks as the import type.
  3. Click Choose File and select the HTML file you exported from your browser.
  4. Click Import — Cachd will process the file and add your bookmarks to your library.

Social apps

Cachd can connect to your social accounts to import content you’ve already saved, such as Twitter/X saved posts and Reddit saved posts. Rather than exporting files, these connections use a direct integration that syncs your saves automatically. Video platforms

If you’ve built up a Watch Later list or collection of liked videos on a video platform, Cachd can import those saves into your library alongside everything else you collect. To connect a video platform, see Connections Overview for available integrations and setup steps.

What happens after import

Once your import is complete, Cachd processes your content automatically — you don’t need to do anything else:
  • Duplicates removed — If the same URL appears more than once across your imports, Cachd keeps only one copy so your library stays clean.
  • Broken links removed — Any links that no longer resolve to live pages are filtered out automatically.
  • OCR indexing — Cachd extracts text from images within your saved content so everything is fully searchable, including visual material.
  • Smart Collections — Your imported saves are sorted into organized groups automatically, based on topic and content type, so your library is ready to browse from day one.
