The Cachd browser extension turns any page on the web into a saved item in your library without breaking your flow. Whether you’re deep in a research rabbit hole or stumble across a recipe you want to revisit, one click is all it takes — the page is captured, indexed, and waiting for you the next time you open Cachd.

Install the extension

Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for Cachd. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm the prompt to install. Once the extension is added, click the Cachd icon in your toolbar and sign in to your Cachd account to activate it.

How it works

After you install and sign in, saving a page is instant:
  1. Click the Cachd icon in your browser toolbar while you’re on any page you want to save.
  2. The page is saved to your library immediately — Cachd captures the URL, title, and a preview so you can identify it later.
  3. Optionally add a note or choose a collection before confirming. You can skip this step and organize items later from inside Cachd.
That’s it. You never have to leave the page you’re on.

Your ingest token

The extension authenticates your save requests using a secure, user-scoped ingest token that is tied exclusively to your Cachd account. This token is generated automatically the first time you sign in through the extension — you don’t need to copy, paste, or manage it manually. The ingest token ensures that only you can save items to your library through the extension, even if someone else uses the same browser profile temporarily. Every save request is authenticated against your account before it is accepted. If you ever need to regenerate your token — for example, if you believe it was compromised — you can do so without reinstalling the extension:
1

Open Extension Settings

Open Cachd and go to Settings > Extension.
2

Regenerate the Token

Click Regenerate Token.
3

Confirm the action

Confirm the prompt. Your old token is immediately invalidated and a new one is issued.
4

Resume saving

The extension picks up the new token automatically on its next save attempt — no manual steps required.

Saving from the extension

1

Navigate to a page you want to save

Open any web page in your browser — an article, tool, recipe, product page, or anything else worth keeping.
2

Click the Cachd icon in your toolbar

The Cachd extension popup opens. It displays the page title and URL that will be saved.
3

Add an optional note or select a collection

Type a quick note to your future self, or pick a collection to file the item in right away. Both fields are optional — you can always edit them later.
4

Click Save

Hit Save and the item is added to your Cachd library instantly. The popup closes and you’re back on the page, ready to keep browsing.
Pin the Cachd extension to your browser toolbar so it’s always one click away. In Chrome and Edge, click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and select the pin icon next to Cachd. In Firefox, right-click the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar to drag it into view.
